Sunday Ramblings

Sunday, January 30th, 2005

It’s a rainy Sunday evening and I felt like updating the site.

So we returned to Genesis Metro this morning. It’s a good church… we’re going to continue attending. I must admit, though, it’s a bit weird going to a new church. Patrick and I both work for ‘ministries’ and the fact that we don’t attend one of the ones we work for seems odd to me. For me, it’s a bit of overload to go to church with people you see all day/every day. Like you always have to be ‘on’. I think Patrick will agree. Plus, it doesn’t help that we’ve been church-shopping for 3 1/2 years. That’s discouraging. So we’ve decided that we’ll attend this church on Sunday a.m. and start going to one of the Life Groups (Bible studies in homes) during the week. We really want to experience the church, then decide if this is where we’ll get plugged in. That’s where we’re at now… we want to start serving somewhere. So far, this church is looking good. And the people are really great. We’ve never visited somewhere where we felt so welcomed!

In fact, we went out to lunch with some of the people from church today. We had a great lunch and met more people. Good conversations… fun times. In fact, we found out that Kyle is a fan of this site! That made me so proud! :)
Well, as another busy week begins, I’m going to practice more of what Tim spoke about this morning… remembering that our marriage is the only lifelong committment we’ve made… not to our careers or friends, but to our spouse. I’m going to work harder at making sure that Patrick knows that he’s #1 to me; and that means putting work at #2. Of course, there will be ebbs and flows to careers and relationships, but I need to be more conscience of him rather than work.

Ah yes, things that weren’t in The Idiot’s Guide to Marriage. Glad we’re practicing this now at month 4 3/4. :)

More Pics Up

Saturday, January 29th, 2005

I’ve just spent the entire afternoon putting up all the good shots that were taken with the table cameras from our reception. Word to the wise, in your future visits to wedding receptions with table cameras, make sure you use the flash on the cameras and you take them in close range to the object you’re shooting.

Anyhow, there are some good ones up there so have fun going through them. I sure did when I was putting them up.

Head over to the photos page to view them.

Family Updates

Today is Drew’s bday… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Liz passed her boards and is now a full-fledged nurse! You can now call her “Liz, RN” (get it, from Meet the Parents: Listen here Greg RN…!) Good for her… she’s been studying for this test for months and now has time to enjoy other things.

Liz, Joe, Heather, and Pete and all gonna hang out in Virginia on Sun night before Pete goes “overseas”. They’ll have a good time.

Patrick and Colin will be working on www.pegomyheart.com this wkend. They’re trying to get the website up and running for mom to start e-commercing.

Patrick has joined a softball team here in Frisco. Practices begin Sunday afternoon. We’re gonna buy his gear and practice today. Should be fun.

We also went to a new church last weekend, called Genesis Metro. It was pretty cool… and we received a very warm welcome. I think we’ll return this wkend.

Ok, that’s all for now. Post a comment… let us know you were here.

Raquel’s First Post

This is my first post to our website… pretty exciting!

Hope that everyone had a great new year. Personally, I LOVED 2004. It was a great year… finished my MBA, got married at the perfect ‘wedding weekend 2004′ celebration (even if some of the bridesmaid’s flowers were wrong), enjoyed an awesome honeymoon to Jackson Hole… it was like a dream.

Back to reality… Check out more photos from our first Christmas as a married couple. Click on the ‘photos’ link to the right and scroll to the bottom. We went to Tucson, AZ to visit my brother Peter who’s in the Air Force. He’s going to be deployed in 20 days, so we wanted to be sure that we were able to spend some quality time with him before he left.

Remember to post a comment so we know you visited. More posts to come soon. Enjoy the pics (there are some funny ones… just remember that I was sick throughout the entire trip). :)
